  • Becoming a Blessing: Living as if Your Life Makes a Difference

VIDEO: Becoming a Blessing: Living as if Your Life Makes a Difference

Lives are about stories. Teaching is the story of passing on knowledge and caring to others. This video link is the first in the Master in the Art of Teaching program and sets the stage for all of the rest of the work in the program and in your teaching life.

Marygrove College is host to one of the annual Bioneers Conference Sites. The Bioneers are a group of individuals spread across the country and around the world who are "inspiring a shift to live on Earth in ways that honor the web of life, each other, and future generations." In 2006, Rachel Naomi Remen, M.D., told her stories and explored the place of the sacred in people’s lives and work in her keynote speech at the annual conference. As you watch/listen to Dr. Remen, reflect on your own childhood.

    • What are the stories from your childhood about family and school?
    • How did you know you were loved?
    • As a teacher, how can you pass on the blessings of your life to others?
